The Trinamool Congress has firmly condemned the murder of Chandranath Rath, the personal assistant to BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who was killed by unidentified assailants on the outskirts of Kolkata.
Rath's murder, which the party described as brutal, happened amid escalating tensions marked by post-poll violence. Three other TMC workers have also been killed in recent days, reportedly by BJP-backed individuals, despite the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct.
In a statement, the Trinamool Congress demanded a rigorous, court-supervised CBI investigation into these incidents to quickly identify and prosecute those responsible. They declared that such political violence has no place in a democratic society and the perpetrators must be brought to justice promptly.
