In a bid to fortify the Congress party's grassroots base ahead of the 2027 assembly elections, Kumari Selja, the Congress general secretary and Uttarakhand in-charge, embarked on a comprehensive five-day tour of the Garhwal division late Wednesday.

Upon arrival at Jolly Grant Airport, Selja's itinerary commenced with a visit to Rishikesh for an overnight stay. On Thursday, she will engage with District Congress Committee (DCC) Pauri members in Srinagar and proceed to Sonprayag, followed by a visit to the revered Shri Kedarnath Dham on Friday. Her agenda includes crucial interactions with party workers in Augustmuni and Rudraprayag.

The tour continues with engagements in Chamoli, including a meeting in Birhi and prayers at Badrinath Dham. On Sunday, she will meet with Joshimath party workers before concluding her visit on Monday with a Chamba meeting, capping off her strategically significant visit before returning to Delhi.
