Kerala Congress (Joseph) chairman P J Joseph has voiced the party's ambition to claim at least two ministerial seats in the upcoming UDF government. This demand comes after a strong performance in the 2026 assembly elections, where the Joseph faction secured seven out of eight contested seats.
Joseph, despite not contesting, witnessed his son Apu John Joseph's significant victory in Thodupuzha, winning by nearly 85,000 votes. Before heading to Thiruvananthapuram, Joseph assured reporters that the party's request would be addressed amicably through discussions.
The chief ministerial position is anticipated to fall to the Congress party, with names like V D Satheesan, Ramesh Chennithala, and K C Venugopal in the running. The UDF celebrated a substantial victory, capturing 102 out of 140 seats in the state assembly.
