Farooq Abdullah Expects Supreme Court Intervention in West Bengal Polls Controversy

National Conference president Farooq Abdullah expressed anticipation that the Supreme Court will play a crucial role in addressing alleged electoral malpractices from the West Bengal polls. The comments came as political figures like Mamata Banerjee and Akhilesh Yadav also raised doubts over the election's integrity.

“Mamata is raising questions, Akhilesh is raising questions, everyone is raising questions on the poll results. I hope they will take this to the Supreme Court and that the Supreme Court will deliver justice on it,” Abdullah declared, signaling hope for judicial intervention.

Amid these discussions, the NC held a provincial committee meeting to deliberate on strengthening the party and broader developmental goals. Spokesman Tanvir Sadiq noted that meetings occur monthly, focusing on party matters and regional issues. Cabinet expansion was not a topic of discussion, as it remains under the chief minister’s jurisdiction.
