The incident occurred just before Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya was scheduled to administer the oath of office to Himanta Biswa Sarma as chief minister, amidst attendees including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top government officials.
While no weapons were found on the suspect, an investigation is ongoing to assess if there was a potential security threat, raising concerns at the high-profile event expected to draw a crowd of nearly 100,000 people.
