AIADMK Chief Edappadi K Palaniswami has asserted his authority to appoint a party whip for the Tamil Nadu Assembly while addressing the press on Wednesday.
His statement came shortly after rebel leaders, including MLAs C Ve Shanmugam and S P Velumani, demanded to see the resolution that confirmed the choice of whip.
Amidst these intra-party tensions, MLA Thalavai Sundaram backed Palaniswami's claim, referencing the tenth schedule of the Constitution to justify the party leader's right to appoint a whip.
