New Faces in Maharashtra's Legislative Council

Administered by Legislative Council Chairperson Ram Shinde, the oath-taking ceremony brought together prominent political figures such as Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and other top leaders, indicating the importance of the event in the state's political landscape.

With current vacancies totaling 22 seats in the 78-member Upper House, including 17 from local self-government bodies and five governor-nominated positions, attention now turns to the upcoming biennial elections scheduled for December. These elections will focus on filling graduates and teachers' seats, further shaping the political dynamics in Maharashtra.
