Udhayanidhi Stalin Calls for Abolishment of Caste System for Equality

Udhayanidhi Stalin, a leader of DMK, has defended his call to abolish the caste system in Tamil Nadu, clarifying his stance that it’s about ensuring equal rights and not opposing religious practices. His remarks, based on Dravidian principles, emphasize opposition to inequality and caste-based divisions.

DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has reignited debate with his controversial statement in the Tamil Nadu Assembly calling for the abolition of Sanatan Dharma, which he argues perpetuates caste divisions. He clarified that his remarks were about dismantling the caste hierarchy to ensure equal rights for everyone in society.

Udhayanidhi emphasized that abolishing the caste system does not imply opposition to religious visits to temples. Instead, it seeks to create a society where all individuals, irrespective of caste, enjoy equal rights in all social spheres, including religious practices.
