Suvendu Adhikari Resigns from Nandigram, Retains Bhabanipur

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari resigned from the Nandigram Assembly seat, opting to retain the Bhabanipur constituency. Adhikari's resignation to Speaker Rathindra Bose followed Assembly rules. He contested and won in both Nandigram and Bhabanipur during the recent elections, defeating prominent opponents in each constituency.

In a strategic move, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has stepped down from his position as the Nandigram Assembly representative. On Friday, Adhikari made the decision to retain the Bhabanipur constituency, presenting his official resignation to Speaker Rathindra Bose.

Adhikari, contested in both Nandigram located in Purba Medinipur district, and Bhabanipur in south Kolkata during the recently concluded assembly elections. His victory against Trinamool Congress candidates in both constituencies was a significant political shift, marking a decisive win against notable figures.

Adhikari emerged victorious in Nandigram with a margin of 9,665 votes against TMC's Pabitra Kar. Meanwhile, he defeated TMC's supremo Mamata Banerjee in Bhabanipur, securing a lead of 15,105 votes, further solidifying his political influence in the region.
