The Kuki Students' Organisation held a protest at Jantar Mantar, highlighting the violence and abductions faced by the Kuki-Zo community in Manipur. The Delhi-NCR unit accused NSCN-IM cadres of targeting their community and pointed out the absence of robust action from the authorities.
The demonstration was sparked by the killing of three Kuki-Zo church pastors on May 13 and the abduction of 14 men. Protestors demanded justice, as placards reading 'Kidnapping civilians is a war crime', 'Justice before peace', and 'Stop Ethnic violence' filled the scene.
The organisation also raised alarms over illegal cross-border movements and trades, while urging the cessation of ceasefire agreements with NSCN-IM. They called for a separate administration to ensure their community's safety and an urgent investigation into the recent violent incidents.
