The AIADMK party is currently experiencing a tense internal power struggle, with factions gearing up to assert dominance. General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami faces a significant challenge from former state ministers C Ve Shanmugam and S P Velumani.
In a move to solidify his control, Palaniswami has scheduled a meeting of the party's district secretaries. Meanwhile, the rival group, led by Shanmugam and Velumani, has embarked on a signature campaign demanding a general council meeting.
This internal conflict follows the faction's decision to support the TVK government during a recent vote, defying Palaniswami's guidance, and intensifying efforts to re-evaluate the party's leadership.
