TNCC President K Selvaperunthagai on Wednesday said any decision on potential support from the AIADMK to the TVK, and the possible inclusion of the Dravidian party into the cabinet, would be taken collectively within the party.

Speaking to reporters here, Selvaperunthagai said, ''We will deliberate, hold discussions, and consult with everyone involved before reviewing our stance.''.

He added that the official details regarding the impending state cabinet expansion would be made public soon.

He also dismissed speculations about AIADMK-DMK alliance, stating that there is ''absolutely no possibility of such an alliance happening''.

''The idea of AIADMK and DMK aligning is something I have only seen in newspapers and media outlets,'' Selvaperunthagai said.

''There are a million questions surrounding whether such discussions even took place, or if there is any actual scope for them to come together. In my personal opinion, there is absolutely no possibility of such an alliance happening,'' he added.

On TVK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's stance on the Mullivaikkal issue, which has reportedly triggered speculation among Congress circles, Selvaperunthagai said the issue would be escalated to the party leadership.

''We will take this matter to our high command and discuss it with them,'' he stated.

CM Vijay had expressed his solidarity with the Tamil diaspora through his X handle on May 18, which is observed as Mullivaikkal Remembrance Day.

Earlier in the day, the Tamil Nadu Congress President paid floral tributes to the prominent social reformer and anti-caste thinker, Pandit Iyothee Thass, on his birth anniversary.

Recalling the legislative efforts that led to the creation of a memorial for the leader, Selvaperunthagai noted that the Congress and allied leaders had strongly advocated for it in the state assembly during the 2021–2026 tenure, specifically during the 2022–23 session.

''We raised our voices on the floor of the Assembly demanding a memorial for Iyothee Thass. Then CM, M K Stalin immediately accepted the request, laid the foundation stone, and subsequently inaugurated the memorial,'' he said, while emphasising that the memorial must now be properly maintained.
