Nepal's ruling RSP chief likely to visit India soon: official
Nepal's Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane is likely to visit India soon, with possible meetings with high officials and the BJP leadership in New Delhi.
Chairperson of Nepal's ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane is likely to visit India soon, the party spokesperson said on Sunday.
The date and other details are still to be worked out for Lamichhane's possible visit to India, according to party spokesperson Manish Jha.
The final confirmation about the visit is still awaited, said Jha, adding that RSP is likely to make an official confirmation regarding this on Monday.
However, several Nepalese media reports said that the visit is likely to take place around June 1.
The possible visit is being touted as significant as no high-level visit has taken place between Nepal and India since the RSP came to power a couple of months ago.
During the visit, Lamichhane is expected to hold meetings with high officials in New Delhi and the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Lamichhane, the former home minister of the Himalayan nation, is also a member of the House of Representatives.
