The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is set to conduct its annual Mahanadu conclave virtually in a move inspired by Narendra Modi's appeal to conserve fuel during the ongoing West Asia conflict. Initially planned for three days in Nellore, the event has been reduced to two days and will take place online from the party's central office in Mangalagiri.
This year's Mahanadu, happening on May 27 and 28, commemorates the birth of TDP founder NT Rama Rao. Party leaders and members have been instructed to gather at 1,800 cluster locations across the state for virtual participation. On the first day, N Chandrababu Naidu will lead the proceedings by hoisting the party flag, paying tribute to NTR, and outlining TDP's financial stance.
The second day will feature audio-visual presentations on Telugu identity and the party's struggles. Significantly, this is the first conclave since Nara Lokesh became working president. The meeting will conclude with discussions on strategies for upcoming elections, with Naidu addressing attendees on future plans and adopting a new political resolution.
