In a move to formalize a popular digital initiative, Sudhir Jakhar, a lawyer from Haryana, has submitted an application to register the 'Cockroach Janta Party' as a recognized political party with India's Election Commission. He proposed to lead the party as its national convener, reflecting growing public interest in the digital outfit.

Jakhar stated that the widespread public connect with the CJP necessitated a political platform. With the founder, Abhijeet Dipke, currently abroad, Jakhar took the responsibility of advancing the cause. He emphasized the party's dedication to public service, constitutional awareness, and transparency in governance.

The application outlines CJP's goals including promoting community service and enforcing the rule of law. The initiative aims to strengthen democratic participation and enhance awareness of citizens' constitutional rights. Jakhar, who actively participated in past farmer protests, finds this venture significant in advocating for peaceful democratic reforms.

The Cockroach Janta Party recently garnered attention when its X account was withheld in India amidst a controversy involving remarks by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. Clarifying his earlier comments, Kant stressed they were misreported, intending no critique of students but addressing those with fraudulent credentials in the legal field.
