In the midst of growing rumors that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah might resign to make way for Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in Karnataka, officials from Lok Bhavan clarified on Thursday that Siddaramaiah has yet to arrange a meeting with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.
The situation comes after reports from the chief minister’s office suggested that Siddaramaiah had planned to meet Gehlot, who is presently in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. A senior official stated, "His Excellency is not here. There is no such information." While Siddaramaiah can present his resignation to the Lok Bhavan secretary, the final step would require a personal meeting with the Governor, pending standard procedures.
