H K Patil, Karnataka's Law Minister, revealed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah plans to step down, as conveyed during a meeting with ministers. The deputy, D K Shivakumar, is expected to succeed him.

Following a breakfast meeting, Patil stated that the leadership change aligns with Congress high command's orders. While Siddaramaiah is preparing to meet the governor, there is no confirmed appointment yet. Discussions within the party signal unanimous support for Shivakumar's upcoming promotion.
