Siddaramaiah to Step Down; D K Shivakumar Poised for Karnataka's Top Role

Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is set to resign, with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar expected to be his successor. Karnataka Law Minister H K Patil announced that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will resign, making way for Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to assume the top role. This decision follows directions from the Congress high command, Patil remarked after a breakfast meeting hosted by Siddaramaiah.

During the meeting, several ministers, including Excise Minister RB Timmapur, reacted emotionally to the announcement. Labour Minister Santosh Lad was visibly moved when questioned on the subject. Ministers reflected on the government's performance over the last three years, as indicated by the Minister of Science and Technology N S Boseraju.
