After agreeing to acknowledge the leadership of AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami, S P Velumani made a return to his Thondamuthur constituency to express gratitude to the voters for their support. At the same time, C Ve Shanmugam has maintained an unclear stance regarding his future in the party.
Shanmugam, who decided not to join Velumani and other dissidents during a meeting with Palaniswami, emphasized his commitment to serving the residents of his Mailam constituency first. He vowed to address their concerns as their elected representative with utmost dedication.
Despite Shanmugam's noncommittal position, approximately 25 renegade AIADMK legislators had previously supported the ruling TVK against party orders, creating internal friction. As a result, some members defected to the TVK, igniting debates over political ethics.
Meanwhile, Velumani expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the people in his constituency for their continuous support, assuring them of his dedication to their welfare.
