Key Congress figures, including K C Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala, arrived in Bengaluru on Saturday for an important Congress Legislature Party meeting. The main agenda is to elect a new leader to replace Siddaramaiah as Karnataka's Chief Minister.
Both leaders were welcomed by state party members and attended a gathering at Vidhana Soudha. D K Shivakumar is under strong consideration as the new CLP leader, with Siddaramaiah reportedly prepared to advocate for him. Discussions with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot about the swearing-in ceremony are ongoing.
