Punjab Police on Monday carried out a significant raid on the residence of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia. This action was linked to the Majitha police station attack case, where a group allegedly tried to liberate a detainee held in custody.

The police reported that Majithia was involved in the unlawful assembly that attempted to free the detainee, Jobanpreet, from the Majitha police station. The mob reportedly infiltrated the station, made threats against officers, and searched through several rooms.

SSP Rural Sohail Mir announced that raids are ongoing to identify and apprehend others involved in the incident. SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal criticized the state's AAP government, claiming political vendetta against Majithia. The incident is fueling tensions with claims of political misuse of the police force.
