Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is weighing a potential visit to India in early July for talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting, likely in Assam, coincides with ongoing construction of a semiconductor plant in the region.

The bilateral discussions are expected to center on bolstering economic and security cooperation between the two nations, particularly in response to China's increasing influence in the region. This follows their previous dialogue at the G20 Summit in November.

Prime Minister Takaichi's decision on the India visit will also take into account her attendance at the NATO Summit scheduled for July 7-8 in Turkey, alongside parliamentary obligations in Japan.
