In a bid to accelerate grassroots development, Himachal Pradesh's Public Works and Urban Development Minister, Vikramaditya Singh, announced the state government's plan to work closely with newly elected Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) representatives, irrespective of political affiliations.
During a meeting with elected PRI officials in Shimla, including panchayat pradhans, panchayat samiti, and zila parishad members, Singh stressed the importance of maintaining open dialogue to understand local developmental needs and address issues promptly. Highlighting the democratic spirit of Himachal Pradesh, he stated, "Our effort is to meet everyone, listen to their concerns, and work together for the development of their respective areas."
Singh also celebrated the revival of the historic Shipki La trade route, viewing it as a strategic move to boost economic ties with China. Citing its historical significance, Singh mentioned that the initiative seeks to foster stronger regional connectivity and bilateral relations, urging for greater trade and engagement to ease border tensions.
