In a scathing critique, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of fixating on dismantling the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, rather than attending to public welfare. Speaking to ANI, Tiwari alleged that the BJP's political maneuvers in the state are solely aimed at weakening the TMC and undermining its chief, Mamata Banerjee.
"Their focus isn't on the welfare of the people but rather on targeting the TMC," Tiwari asserted. He criticized the ruling party for orchestrating a calculated campaign to discredit Banerjee. In response, West Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya countered by accusing Banerjee of jeopardizing diplomatic relations with Bangladesh and compromising the safety of minority communities there.
Bhattacharya dismissed recent remarks by Banerjee as baseless and widely disapproved. "Whatever Mamata Banerjee has said is condemned by everyone," he stated, alleging her actions are detrimental to bilateral ties. Controversy deepened as Advocate Rinki Chatterjee Singh filed a legal complaint against Banerjee, alleging her public statements were provocative and defamatory towards India's constitutional institutions, raising questions about the integrity of the Election Commission and Central Armed Forces.
