The Indian National Congress has intensified its critique against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, spotlighting the nation's spiraling fuel prices and their ramifications on different societal groups. The party's leaders took to social media platform X, targeting the government’s policy direction and its far-reaching consequences.
Congress posted a video of Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, alleging that the administration has neglected principles of equality, justice, and fraternity. Kharge criticized the government for hurting the rights of women, farmers, and marginalized communities, questioning the envisioned future of India under Modi's rule.
Additionally, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accused the government of the strategic surge in fuel costs, labeling Modi as 'Inflation Man'. Gandhi claimed that prices were temporarily controlled during elections but soared post-elections, impacting citizens' finances. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge echoed similar concerns, stating the persistent fuel hikes affect household budgets, further stressing the economy and society.
