On the occasion marking '12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare' under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland held a press conference at its state office in Kohima. Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Leader Yanthungo Patton emphasized Modi's record as India's longest-serving elected Prime Minister, noting that his uninterrupted tenure surpassed Jawaharlal Nehru's on June 10, 2026.
Patton outlined significant achievements in poverty reduction, digital infrastructure, and economic growth over the past 12 years. He highlighted that nearly 250 million people have overcome multidimensional poverty, and India has risen as the world's fastest-growing major economy. Citing Modi's 'Nation First' approach, Patton credited advancements in national security, infrastructure, and digital governance as crucial milestones. The administration's focus on empowering youth, women, and farmers through welfare programs was also underscored.
Addressing India's enhanced global stature, Patton noted key international partnerships and trade agreements, alongside the numerous civilian honors bestowed upon PM Modi by over 30 countries. Concluding the event, BJP leaders expressed confidence in Modi's leadership towards realizing the vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047.' Minister Temjen Imna Along described Modi's tenure as a transformative era that solidified India's socioeconomic identity, heralding a new phase of service-oriented governance and national pride.
