Rebel Trinamool Congress MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has signaled a possible political realignment with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), expressing willingness to work with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Her remarks came during the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs where she voiced serious concerns about social issues in West Bengal, including child marriage and trafficking.

In a conversation with ANI, Dastidar confirmed the initiation of merger talks, suggesting acceptance by the NDA. "We are looking to integrate with another party, and the reception has been positive. We intend to work collaboratively under the leadership of Modi ji and Amit Shah ji," she stated, indicating a strategic shift from the current political alignment.

Dastidar emphasized the urgency of implementing central welfare schemes in West Bengal, drawing attention to the state government's inefficacy in addressing child safety. "The discussion was centered on leveraging non-executed schemes for the benefit of West Bengal, particularly in safeguarding children," she commented. Her critique of the state government extended to their handling of crime against children, questioning the measures taken to tackle issues like child marriage and trafficking.
