JDU demands re-poll at Soki polling station

The representation letter also stated that, BJP workers did not allow a group of 17 voters from the JDU party to cast vote on the day, also threatened the voters and warned not to complain about it to the election authority.

Demonstrating strong resentment over the infringement of adult franchise at Soki polling station of 24 Daporijo Assembly Constituency, the Janata Dal-United (JDU), Daporijo unit on April 18 organized a rally demanding re-poll near the district Deputy Commissioner's Office.

17 members from the Daporijo JDU unit also submitted a representation to the Returning Officer (RO) cum District Election Officer (DEO) alleging infringement of adult franchise in the Soki polling station on April 11 during General Assembly and Lok Sabha election, thereof demanding a fresh poll.

The representation letter also stated that BJP workers did not allow a group of 17 voters from the JDU party to cast vote on the day, also threatened the voters and warned not to complain about it to the election authority.

Daporijo JDU party also said that the party has made the declaration in the office of Judicial and Executive Magistrate, Daporijo about the incident where his voters were not allowed to vote.
