President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that his administration is in discussions with Democrats to produce some sort of meaningful gun legislation following mass shootings in the United States in recent weeks.
Trump told reporters that despite the conversations with Democrats he remained a strong supporter of the right of Americans to own guns. Democrats have been demanding action on guns after shooters in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, killed 31 people with semi-automatic rifles using high-volume magazines.
