Heavy rains likely in Himachal Pradesh

Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall are likely to occur at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh next week, the MeT Department said today.

The weatherman said there is also a possibility of snowfall in the higher hills from August 20 to 25.

Dharamshala recorded the highest rainfall in the state during the last 24 hours at 92 mm followed by Gaggal 49 mm, Jogindernagar 45 mm, Palampur 42 mm, Sujanpur Tira 40 mm, Baijnath 37 mm, Nagrota Suriyan 32 mm, Ghamroor 30 mm, Guler 16 mm, Manali 11 mm, Sundernagar 10 mm, Bharari 9 mm, Dalhousie 8 mm, Mandi 4 mm and Pandoh 3 mm of rainfall.

Keylong was recorded as the coldest place with the lowest temperature of 12.4 degrees Celsius whereas Hamirpur was the hottest place with highest temperature at 38.2 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours.
