Germany's Scholz: Many dead and injured expected in Libya floods

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Tuesday a high toll of deaths and injuries was expected in severe flooding in Libya.
"Many dead and injured are expected, especially in the east. Our thoughts are with all those affected and their families," he wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Scholz added that Germany stood with the United Nations and other partners on possible aid to the country.
