(Update: Launched) SpaceX to launch 22 Starlink satellites from Florida today

Starlink, SpaceX's constellation of internet satellites in the low-Earth orbit, is set to get a boost with the upcoming launch of 22 new satellites. The Elon Musk-owned company is targeting Sunday, November 19 for a Falcon 9 launch of the new batch of satellites from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

The Falcon 9 rocket carrying the 22 Starlink satellites will lift off at 10:33 p.m. PT, with backup opportunities available until 2:30 a.m. PT on Monday, November 20, the company said.

The upcoming launch will be the 15th flight for the Falcon 9 first-stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, DART, Transporter-7, Iridium OneWeb, SDA-0B, and nine Starlink missions. Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship, which will be stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

Through Starlink, SpaceX aims to provide high-speed, low-latency internet across the globe, especially in areas where traditional broadband infrastructure is limited or unavailable. The back-to-back launches of Starlink satellites demonstrate the company's ability to swiftly expand the satellite constellation and realize this ambitious goal.
