Tragic Loss: Toddler Falls into Open Drain in Vasai

In a heartbreaking incident, a two-and-half-year-old boy named Narendra Goriwale died after falling into an open drain near his residence in Vasai, Palghar district, as confirmed by civic authorities.

The accident happened in the Lohia slum colony in Umale Phata, according to officials from the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation fire brigade. Narendra slipped into the drain filled with water while his parents were away at work and his grandmother was occupied with cooking.

The lifeless body of Narendra was found by neighbors, who rushed to the scene after his grandmother raised an alarm when he was nowhere to be found. An accidental death report has been filed, and further investigations are currently ongoing, per sources from the Vasai police station.
