In a tragic turn of events, at least 24 bats were discovered lifeless near a pond in Parsada village, Chhattisgarh's Korba district. The extreme heat is suspected to be the cause, according to a forest official.

The carcasses were found on Sunday in the Pali forest range. Kumar Nishant, the Katghora divisional forest officer, disclosed that samples have been sent for testing to ascertain the precise cause of death.

Forest personnel and a team of veterinarians are currently at the scene, conducting a thorough examination. 'Though heat stroke appears to be the primary suspect, the exact reason will be confirmed post-mortem,' Nishant stated.
