Four members of a family, including a 50-year-old woman, were injured in a shocking leopard attack in Odisha's Balasore district on Saturday, according to local police.

The attack took place in Gad village, near Kupari village, as the family worked on their farmland. The leopard emerged suddenly from a bush and targeted the woman. Her family members, attempting to rescue her, were also attacked before the leopard fled back into the wild. All victims received initial treatment at Khaira hospital, with the woman later transferred to Bhadrakh district headquarters hospital for advanced care, police confirmed.

Soro Forest (wildlife) Range officer Manoranjan Nayak disclosed that a forest department team has been deployed to locate the leopard. However, their efforts are hampered by a large crowd of local residents also searching for the animal, complicating the operation.
