Odisha CM Gears Up for Monsoon Floods

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed officials to prepare for potential floods during the monsoon season. In a high-level Water Resources Department meeting, Majhi emphasized the importance of a 24x7 control room and the strengthening of river embankments, while being apprised of current safety measures.

In a strategic move, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has issued directives for enhanced flood preparedness amidst the ongoing monsoon season.

During a high-level Water Resources Department meeting, Majhi insisted on round-the-clock control room setups and stressed the reinforcement of river embankments, emphasizing weak and vulnerable sections.

'We have briefed the chief minister on our proactive measures, including mock drills for dam gate operations and regular inspections for embankment integrity,' Development Commissioner Anu Garg reported.
