76 Coal Miners Rescued After Earth Tremor in Poland

Rescue teams in Poland have saved 76 coal miners following an earth tremor that hit the Rydultowy mine. However, two miners remain trapped underground. One of the trapped miners has been located, and rescuers are working to reach him. Among the rescued, 17 were hospitalized, with one seriously injured.

Rescue teams in Poland have successfully saved 76 coal miners after an earth tremor struck the Rydultowy mine in southern Poland, the mine-owner PGG confirmed.

The rescue effort continues as two miners are still trapped underground. The mine's CEO, Leszek Pietraszek, reported that one of the trapped miners has been located, and efforts are ongoing to reach him. Meanwhile, 17 of the rescued miners have been taken to nearby hospitals, with one in serious condition.

PGG spokesperson Aleksandra Wysocka-Siembiga disclosed that the tremor occurred around 0600 GMT, approximately 1,200 meters (3,960 feet) below ground at the mine.
