Maharashtra's new tourism policy is set to attract investments worth Rs 1 lakh crore while creating 18 lakh jobs, announced state minister Girish Mahajan on Thursday.
The policy aims to enhance infrastructure and tourism sites, with a goal of doubling tourist numbers. It also seeks to boost both rural and urban employment through tourism.
In addition to attracting domestic tourists and generating trade, the policy will focus on local folk culture and incentivize capital investment. Other measures include CGST rebates, power tariff concessions, and financial assistance for MSMEs, as stated in the government resolution issued today.
