Tragic Landslide Claims Lives on Kedarnath Dham Trekking Route
Three people lost their lives and several others were injured following a devastating landslide on the Kedarnath Dham trekking route in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district. The disaster, which occurred near Chirbasa, saw debris and heavy stones tumbling down from the hill. Rescue operations are underway.

A devastating landslide claimed the lives of three people and left several others injured on Sunday morning on the Kedarnath Dham trekking route in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district.
According to Rudraprayag District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar, the incident took place at around 7:30 am in the Chirbasa area of the Gaurikund-Kedarnath trekking route. Debris and heavy stones began tumbling down the hill, causing the tragic accident.
Prompt action by the relief and rescue team led to the recovery of three bodies from the debris. One person was rescued in an injured condition. Efforts are ongoing to ensure the safety and rescue of any additional victims.
