Karnataka Unveils Ambitious Tourism Policy 2024-29

Karnataka Tourism Minister H K Patil announced the introduction of a comprehensive 'Tourism Policy 2024-29'. The policy aims to enhance temple, adventure, recreational, eco, educational, and agro-tourism. Development initiatives include improving the state's 320 km coastline with 40 identified nodes. The initiative promises better roads and amenities to boost tourism.

Karnataka Tourism Minister H K Patil on Tuesday revealed that the state government is preparing to introduce a new 'Tourism Policy 2024-29', which will address various facets of the sector.

Patil stated that the policy would be enacted in about a month and would place significant emphasis on temple tourism, adventure tourism, recreational tourism, eco-tourism, educational tourism, and agro-tourism. Deliberations and exercises for the formulation of the policy are already underway.

Highlighting Karnataka's 320 km coastline, Patil mentioned that 40 nodes have been identified along this stretch for development. An Expression of Interest has been called for these nodes, aiming to develop roads, basic amenities, and the coastline itself.
