The NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) has voiced concerns over the dwindling water storage levels in Latur. The party has called for effective rainwater harvesting across government buildings, private establishments, schools, and colleges.

In a memorandum submitted to additional commissioner Shubham Kyatamwar, the NCP highlighted that despite a month and a half of monsoon, water levels in the district's reservoirs, lakes, and wells remain critically low. Most borewells in Latur city have been dry since March.

With the Manjara dam, the city's primary water source, also receiving inadequate rainfall, NCP warns of an impending water crisis. The party demands immediate action to recharge borewells and enforce mandatory rainwater harvesting for all establishments.
