Heavy Rains Continue Across Rajasthan

Eastern Rajasthan experienced heavy rains on Thursday, with light showers in various regions. The Meteorological Department predicts continued rainfall in parts of both eastern and western Rajasthan over the next few days. Notable cities like Dausa, Jaipur, and Kota recorded significant rainfall, leading to a drop in temperature across the state.

Heavy rains lashed parts of eastern Rajasthan on Thursday, with several other regions experiencing light showers, as per the local meteorological department.

The department forecasted continued rainfall in many areas of eastern Rajasthan and some parts of the Bikaner division in western Rajasthan for the next four to five days.

A Met department spokesperson noted a drop in maximum temperatures by up to four degrees Celsius across most parts of the state.

The Jaipur Meteorological Centre reported that Dausa recorded 20 cm of rainfall, Karauli 13 cm, Baswa in Dausa 11 cm, and Baunli in Sawai Madhopur and Laxmangarh in Alwar each received 9 cm in the last 24 hours until 8.30 am.

From Thursday morning until 5.30 pm, Kota saw 60.6 mm of rain, Sikar 32 mm, Jaipur 25.8 mm, and there were drizzles in Chittorgarh and Bikaner, according to the weather bulletin.

Bikaner experienced the highest temperature in the state, recording 39.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Jaisalmer at 38.5 degrees Celsius, Ganganagar at 38.2 degrees Celsius, Hanumangarh's Sangaria at 38 degrees, Pilani at 37.5 degrees, Phalodi at 37.4 degrees, and Dholpur at 37.2 degrees.

Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, noted that a cyclonic circulation system has formed over northwest Uttar Pradesh, causing the monsoon trough line to pass through Ganganagar and Jaipur. He indicated that due to this system, rainfall is likely to persist in many parts of eastern Rajasthan and some parts of the Bikaner division over the next four to five days.
