A 14-year-old boy lost his life and 12 others sustained injuries in a Russian rocket attack on the small town of Hlukhiv in Ukraine's northeastern Sumy region on Saturday, according to the Ukraine prosecutors' office. The assault on the town near the Russian border occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. (0940 GMT), impacting apartment blocks, houses, an educational institution, a shop, and vehicles.

Of the 12 wounded, six were children, the office added. Reuters has not been able to independently verify the claim. Hlukhiv lies approximately 10 km (6 miles) from the Russian border, an area regularly targeted by Russian shelling in recent months.
