Torrential Rains Cause Devastation Across India

Heavy rain in various parts of India led to landslides and lightning strikes, resulting in numerous deaths across states like Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Himachal Pradesh. Traffic disruptions and infrastructure damage were widespread, with significant impacts on daily life and safety measures being enforced.

Several states in India faced the wrath of heavy monsoon rains on Saturday, leading to multiple casualties and severe infrastructure damage. Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh were among the hardest-hit, with landslides and lightning causing significant loss of life.

In Maharashtra, continuous downpours led to flooding and the recovery of several bodies, raising the death toll in Pune to six. Meanwhile, a building collapsed in Navi Mumbai, killing three and injuring two.

The India Meteorological Department reported heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in regions like Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu. In Delhi, the monsoon rain brought relief from the humidity but also caused widespread waterlogging and traffic snarls. Himachal Pradesh also saw a tragic toll with multiple rain-related deaths and extensive damage to infrastructure.
