The Congress on Sunday demanded accountability following the deaths of three IAS aspirants caused by waterlogging in a Delhi building. Rahul Gandhi asserted that common citizens are bearing the brunt of institutional irresponsibility at all levels.
The tragic incident occurred when heavy rains led to the basement flooding of a coaching center in Old Rajinder Nagar, central Delhi. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge described the loss of lives as a result of 'criminal negligence' by the government and administration.
Highlighting a series of similar incidents, including an earlier death by electric shock, Congress leaders called for rigorous action against those responsible. They emphasized the urgent need for better infrastructure to ensure the safety and confidence of citizens.
