Flash Floods in Kullu Wreak Havoc, Structures Washed Away

In a devastating incident in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district, a flash flood triggered by a cloudburst wiped out a footbridge and three makeshift sheds, including a liquor shop, according to officials on Tuesday.

The disaster occurred in the early hours in the Tosh area of Manikaran, but fortunately, no casualties were reported. Deputy Commissioner Torul S Raveesh stated that a team has been dispatched to evaluate the damage. 'We urge people to keep away from rivers and rivulets and avoid constructing temporary structures near these water bodies,' she advised.

Monsoon activity is expected to intensify, with heavy to very heavy rainfall predicted in six districts. The meteorological office has issued an 'orange' alert for Wednesday and Thursday, warning of potential landslides and flash floods.
