Twelve people were killed in rain-related incidents while three lost their lives in fires over the last 24 hours, according to the state relief commissioner's office on Wednesday.
Currently, seven districts - Ayodhya, Ballia, Lakhimpur Kheri, Farrukhabad, Sitapur, Bahraich, and Hardoi - are affected by floods. Relief and rescue operations are underway.
Four deaths were reported in Chandauli, three each in Banda and Gautam Buddha Nagar, two in Prayagraj, and one each in Pratapgarh, Gonda, and Etawah. Twelve of these fatalities were due to lightning, drowning, and snake bites.
Ganga river is flowing above the danger mark at Kachla bridge in Budaun according to a report by the irrigation department, the relief commissioner's office confirmed.
