Tragedy Strikes Pilgrims: Electrocution Incident in Jharkhand

In a tragic incident on Thursday morning, five Kanwar Yatra pilgrims were electrocuted to death in Jharkhand's Latehar district after their vehicle came into contact with a high-tension overhead wire, according to police reports.
The unfortunate event took place around 3 am at Tam Tam Tola in the Balumath police station area. The pilgrims were reportedly returning from the Baba Baidyanath temple in Deoghar when their vehicle struck an electricity pole, leading to the fatal outcome, police officials added.
Balumath sub-divisional police officer Ashutosh Kumar Satyam confirmed that a high-tension overhead wire fell on their vehicle, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to three others. The injured individuals have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
