Tragic Cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh Leave Four Dead, Dozens Missing

Himachal Pradesh witnessed severe cloudbursts leading to the deaths of four individuals and around 50 missing. The incidents resulted in extensive damage to infrastructure, including houses, bridges, and roads. Rescue operations are underway, and the state has received assurances of assistance from the central government to tackle the crisis.

The state's emergency operation centre reported cloudbursts in the regions of Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla districts. In Shimla, a cloudburst in Samej Khud took the lives of two individuals and left many missing. Emergency response teams, including the NDRF and local police, are using drones to expedite search and rescue efforts.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of comprehensive support from the central government. The ongoing heavy rains have halted road connectivity and affected numerous livelihoods. With schools closed and rescue operations intensifying, the state is bracing for more rainfall and potential future incidents.
