Tragic Landslides Devastate Wayanad: Hundreds Dead and Injured

A devastating landslide in Wayanad district has left 205 people dead and 264 injured, according to the district administration. Among the bodies recovered are 28 children and 133 body parts.

Authorities have conducted 328 autopsies and handed over 116 bodies to relatives. The remaining injured individuals are receiving treatment, while some have been referred to other hospitals for specialized care.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George announced the preparation of ICUs in government hospitals to treat the severely injured. Meanwhile, rescue teams continue to work under challenging conditions to locate approximately 300 missing people. More than 9,000 survivors have been relocated to relief camps.
